Do I need a licensed appraiser for a divorce or estate settlement?
Courts, attorneys, and estate administrators typically require an opinion of value from a state-licensed or certified appraiser. A CMA from a real estate agent is not a substitute for a formal appraisal report when the value will be used in court, mediation, or probate.
